Trump’s SOTU Address, Forrest Gump, and General McGee

At least Forest Gump deserved his Medal of Freedom. To deny the100 year old highly decorated Tuskegee Airman, General Charles McGee that coveted honor in deference to a known political crony, race baiter, and political media operative denigrates the prestige of that honorable title and award.

The General’s exemplary military service does matter and receiving an extra star and promotion, albeit indeed a fitting gesture for outstanding service to nation. Presidential recognition by Trump during his State of the Union address did not go far enough and falls far short of the esteem owed for incredible sacrifices and valor this patriotic African American warrior rendered to our country and allies.
